I am an artist and academic based in Bristol, UK.
My work is drawing, more often than not, and I’m interested in repetition, pattern and the systems and practices related to these. My drawings are a way of understanding our behaviours and habits, and I draw on ideas in maths to help me think things through.
I teach in the School of Arts at UWE on the Fine Art programme. I am also Academic Lead for Drawing in the School, developing Drawing as a core part of the curriculum for all arts students.
I recently collaborated with a mathematician and scientist at the University of Bristol to produce the event Aperiodic, which included an academic conference at UoB and group exhibition at Kit Form Gallery in central Bristol.
I am working with research colleagues on a publication about the field of Drawing Research, to be published in 2026/7 by Bloomsbury. We recently held a symposium and exhibition at Birmingham School of Art called, What is Drawing Research?
